It has been said there is “boldness in beginning”. The commercial sector is now characterised by high operating costs, heavy regulatory imposition and dominance by large corporate operators.
Similarly, in the not-for-profit sector, operating costs are stifling much-needed action, regulatory requirements create impediments to new initiatives and individual creativity is thwarted by an environment that favours established operators.
The creation of SCG is a practical response to the prevailing financial and social environment.
Our mission is to re-enable initiation and innovation in the not-for-profit sector through identification of inspired initiatives, targeted fundraising, facilitation of collaboration, provision of auspice services and professional governance.
By harnessing the power of a collective will, and rationalising the legal and regulatory needs for the group, smaller operators can be empowered to bring passion and innovation into a world where it is essential that a focus on sustainability is treated as the non-negotiable need that it is.
